New England Aquarium
The New England Aquarium is extremely popular and conveniently located in the center of Boston. It is currently undergoing a bit of a renovation, so it wasn't at its best when I visited. There were harbour seals, fur seals and lots of jellyfish. My family particularly enjoyed the touch pools, where there were large rays and sharks, along with crabs and unusual starfish. Due to the location, there is plenty to do outside. Whale watching tours and duck-boat rides depart virtually next-door, while the Faneuil Hall marketplace is just a stroll away. The aquarium is handy if it is wet weather, but it is a bit on the expensive side.

Follow the Freedom Trail - Don't Miss It
If it is good weather and you have a morning or afternoon to spare, then you must put one foot in front of the other and follow the Boston Freedom Trail. It is easy to pick up at various points and easy to spot as it is a trail of bright red bricks. If you follow the entire trail you will pass a total of sixteen different landmarks which have been deemed to be important to the city's history. It starts at Boston Common, passes places like the State Houses, Faneuil Hall and Paul Revere's House, and then finally finished up at the Bunker Hill Monument, which you can climb to the top of if you so wish. No self respecting tourist should miss out on this one, especially as it doesn't cost anything.

Boston New England Aquarium
The New England Aquarium is hard to miss and is on the waterfront. It actually filters the water directly from the harbor for its exhibits. The centerpiece is a giant tank with big turtles and fish. There are also penguins, jellyfish, a modern IMAX and a nice gift shop. Would recommend this strongly, especially if you have kids in tow.

Newbury Street - very nice, very trendy
trendy is the best way to describe Newbury Street. This sure is a pretty street and is lined with lots of lovely shops, where you can easily spend lots of time and money. And when you're tired out, sit on a table outside of a cafe and watch the world passing you buy.

Huge Boston Common
Wow - Boston Common sure is a big park. Is was a great place to relax and even though we came here in the winter, it was quite busy. Apparently when it is really cold you can even go ice skating on the pond. If you want an escape from the city, this is the place to be. Chinatown is close by if you are looking for a good meal after your batteries have been recharged.
